Ride The Wave With This Email Marketing Strategy I’m about to share with you an effective email marketing strategy that you must implement into every email campaign or online business. It’s one technique that grows the single thing to your customer thrives on… TRUST.

I’ve said it many times before; your subscriber will only do business with the people they know, like, and trust. On top of that, your customers like doing business with other people not some machine on the Internet.

Your goal is to strengthen your relationship and bond with your customers. This is the one thing that will set yourself apart from the sea of other Internet Marketers.

In my previous post, I mention an email marketing strategy that went into the mindset of your customers.

Today I going to show you how to relate more to your prospects by become a real life person. In effect, you’ll grow the bond and trust that’s so CRITICAL in your email marketing business.

This technique is all about riding the wave, sort of speak.

What I’m talking about is incorporating real life world-events inside your emails.

Prime examples include; national and even inter-national holidays, special celebrity news, sports (i.e. The World Series, Super Bowl), breaking news, etc.

Be creative, you could even check out what’s the latest gossip on Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media platform.

Keep in mind, your prospects are subscribed under a number of other Internet Marketers opt-in list, implementing this one email marketing strategy, by intermixing and leveraging what’s going on in the world, you’ll get that successful boost of realism, that goes a long way inside the mind of your subscribers.

What you don’t want is your emails to be seen as just another follow up from an endless series, loaded up inside your autoresponder. Your customers are smarter today and can see right through them.

Experiencing the same real life events, which you mention inside your emails, your readers can relate to you even more.

Once you’ve strengthen that relationship, yet again, you can then incorporate your advertising message or marketing promotion. A seasoned marketer will then take this opportunity to make that smooth transition into the direction that fits their needs.

Always be in control of your emails, ride the wave of current events, and steer yourself into the direction where you want to take them.

Putting Entertainment Into Your Email Strategy

Unless you’ve been trapped under a rock, you may have noticed an global entertainment EXPLOSION…

Reality Television and Celebrity News.

Think about it. We has become OBSESSED with the lives of others.

To make huge amounts of money, all you need to do is capitalize on this simple fact!

Your email marketing strategy should include adding your personal experiences inside the body of your messages. Then, Sandwich your affiliate offer inside your stories. Many marketers fail to do this with their campaigns, and just leave so much money on the table.

Having a combination of soft sell marketing tactics, and branding yourself though your own real life experiences, is key to email marketing.

You want your subscribers to know, like, and trust you. Do not hide yourself, let your personality shine, let them know who you are, and inside your emails, send yourself through your messages. This is CRITICAL beyond your deliverability rate because it’s about growing your bond, your trust, and a deeper relationship with your list.

Someone who does this one email marketing strategy VERY well is Mark Hoverson. To this day, I can still remember an email newsletter I once got from Mark. What he did was video tape his child’s first steps, place it on Youtube, and then plugged a promotional email inside his autoresponder client.

In the newsletter he incorporated both the first steps of his son, and his subscribers taking their first steps into marketing – WOW!

That email offer was entertaining, effective, and capturing. It was unlike any other e-mail I received. I will always remember it, and I ALWAYS look forward to reading more of his emails.

That is how you need to position yourself.

If from this blog post you get only one golden nugget added to your tool kit of tips, take this guide as a sign: You can get quality content ANYWHERE, really you can. Do a Google search for any type of information you want. The most viral, relevant, and quality packed content is just a click away.

But, what your subscribers can not get just ANYWHERE on the Internet is YOU. This is why you do not need to be competitive and there is nothing to improve. There is only one of you, you are original, and you are what people want, not some company.

They want your angle, your goals, your mind, your tactics, your thoughts, your like, your dislikes, your strategies, your personality, and your story. You are your brand, let it shine.

This, my friend, is TRULY the one email marketing strategy anyone can implement.

Understanding The Mindset Of Your Potential Customers.

When a potential customer visits a blog or a posted article, they’re in a mindset of obtaining information. They might be doing some some research, trying to find some data or information about a particular topic, or they might be searching for some current events. A seasoned marketer understands this and will tailor their sales techniques accordingly.

A marketing strategy can include giving some quality content and then suggesting a recommendation to learn more.

Now what about social media? So many marketers FAIL when trying to promote on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, why is this?

You see, the mind-set of a prospects in social media is very similar to a party. They want to socialize and meet people. Newbie marketers try and direct sell to the community and wonder why they aren’t making any sales.

Imagine getting asked to buy some new product when you’re at party, it’s not going to turn out well. Having an advertising and marketing plan different than socialization will just get you banned, in the eyes of the community.

Not tailoring your message to the mindset of your prospects will just look like spam. You need to establish different sales techniques for different mediums.

So what of emails? Many will tell you e mail marketing is a great business for direct marketing, but this could not be further to the truth. When someone opens your emails, they’re not looking for that hard sell.

You might be surprise to hear, but the midset of those customers is Entertainment, this is what they want, and this is what you need to supply for your campaign, to become effective. Implementing these simple little tips, in your email marketing strategy, will be what separates your e-mail campaign from the sea of other marketers.

Believe me when I say this, your list does not care about the multiple internet marketing services that Guru Bob is offering, a particular product or B2B service you’re offering, some new digital software tool that will make them millions, a spiffy new affordable management system, or even some profitable online marketing guide or e book. What they want is Entertainment.

Now, the obvious questions becomes; How am I suppose to entertain my list and make money, while building an email list?

De-Personalize Your List Building Strategy, Proven To Increase Opt-Ins

23. October 2009

Every Internet marketer should always focus their advertising strategies to growing a massive and responsive list of subscribers. Having a strong list building system has proven time and time again to be the number one most steady and most reliable money making technique for every Internet marketing business.

I don’t care what type of business model you’re currently in, if you are not working on improving your email list building strategies, you’re loosing out on hordes of residual income. Today on this blog, I’m going to go over a secret list building strategy of “De-Personalization” and why this technique increases opt-in rates for every email marketing campaign, as a result.

Your first objective in listbuilding is getting that email address. You need a fast and simple system for your potential customers and prospects to join your newsletter or mailing list.

Without that email address, no amount of techniques and strategies you implement will ever matter. Without an email address, there’s no way to continue marketing and promoting to that same customer, after they leave your website.

Too many marketers want to add to their landing pages and opt-in boxes. They ponder how to improve their SEO and search engine ranking. They conjure new products, eBooks, or reports for their Internet traffic. But this list building strategy is not about what you can add to your squeeze page, instead this tip is about what to take away.

More of the top marketers are implementing this one technique. I’ve actually seen this marketing tactic done many times now, but nowhere is this strategy advertised.

What I recommend is removing the “name field” and ONLY require their email address during optin.

I can hear the raves of comments now, “How are we going to personalize the emails?” But I’m telling you, it’s over-rated.

TOO MANY marketers try and personalize their emails, and it’s LOST its effect, resembling more like spam, looking for those sales, “Hey Alex, I Got Something To Show You…”

You’re not on a first name basis with your subscribers, your prospects know this, so don’t imply it.

As a result of taking out this field, your potential subscribers now have one less field to fill out, thus making it easier to opt-in.

This little change has PROVEN to increase opt-in rates.

So get off of Twitter and implement this simple list building strategy today, you won’t be sorry.

An Email Marketing Strategy That Crushes Your Competition!

22. October 2009

On this blog post, I’m about to share with you the ONE email marketing strategy that literally separates the Newbies from the Gurus.

This technique is beyond e-mail HTML formatting tips, some email marketing analysis tool, list building segmentation methods, gathering as many email addresses as possible, a new list builder pro system, or even deliverability and open rates.

I’m talking about diving into the mindset of your customers and how they do business. Understanding and implementing this one email marketing strategy will truly send your campaigns threw the roof.

This is Honestly the one post you want to read, if you’re thinking of building an email list…

All Strategies Are Not Created Equal

You know, so many marketers feel that content is KING. “Write highly quality content and your customers with flock to you like bees to honey!”

Sounds like a feasible solution right? With all the spam and junk floating around on the Internet, surely quality content will raise to the top!

WRONG!

Well, maybe just half wrong… Yeah, quality RULES when it comes to strategies for Google SEO and other Search Engines, BUT the same design just doesn’t hold true for e-mails.

Let me explain…

No matter where you customers are opening their emails; they might be at home sitting in front of their computer, they might be at Starbucks with their laptop, or they might even be on the go, checking their e-mail on their Blackberry, iPhone, or some other hand held device. Regardless, of how they are connected the last thing they are expecting is to open up some top notch, high quality report, article, or essay when viewing their inbox.

Believe me, this is farthest from the truth. Do you generally open your e-mail inbox just wishing for the high quality essay? I didn’t think so…

Hence, high quality content should definitely NOT be part of your email marketing strategy.

When developing marketing strategies, it’s crucial to use separate techniques when promoting throughout the Internet. Your prospects undergo different mind-sets and respond differently on separate platforms: SEO, social media, blogs, articles, direct marketing, ebooks, e-mail, etc…

Your email marketing strategy should not be the same as your article marketing strategy. Using the same methods for each one will not improve your performance, but just the opposite.

Working Hard Building An Email List… Now What?

16. October 2009

You’ve undoubtedly heard time and time again, the money is in the list. Building an email list has been preached to death about being PARAMOUNT to making money on the Internet.

There’s many ways on building your list: You could join giveways, spend your time on social media sites like Twitter or Facebook, build JV partners, or any of the other hundred techniques floating around online, but understand this; having some sort of list builder pro system, is only half the equation.

Your goal is not just to build that list, but you also need to have some solid email marketing strategies in place to monetize your email list.

Your search is now over, I’m about to reveal to you, probably the most important strategies in email marketing.

I don’t care how big your list is, how long you’ve been building email lists, how much information you’ve read before, or what other course or service you’ve purchased in the past, if your subscribers are not opening your emails, everything is lost.

This, my friend, is the most important step. Once your understand, obsorb, and actually learn this method, you will be ahead of 99% of all other marketers online.

I have seen many Internet marketers drop the ball here. They concentrate all their efforts in building an email list, but fail to realize the strategic methods behind the first barrier of email marketing… getting your emails opened!

Yes you can send hundreds of newsletter and promotional emails straight from your autoresponder, but if no one’s opening them..

They’ll never see your offers

You will not be sending any traffic anywhere

Which means you’re not conducting business of making sales

and most importantly…

You’re Not Making Any Money.

So ask yourself, what techniques will DRASTICALLY improve email open rates?

1. The From Field: The First Piece of Information Your Leads Will See

To the surprise of MANY it’s NOT the subject line, but who the message is from! Most marketers do not concentrate on this simple fact in their email marketing strategy, your customers will not open emails from people who they DO NOT know.

So how should you go around this? Be consistent.

Have ALL your messages come from the same sender. The info in your “from field” is vital, don’t change this particular information from your personal name to your business name, when sending to all these e-mail addresses. The sudden change will throw your open-rates out the window. Even worse, your subscribers may even cancel any subscriptions.

Your name is your brand, changing that is online success suicide.

If a subscriber found you from a website, blog, or have read some of your articles, you want to make sure those page has your name somewhere prominent. You want your name to be fresh in the minds of your prospects. Once they opt-in, you must email them right way.

You can also choose to have the website or your blog name to be the sender of your emails. I have seen this done successfully, but I honestly believe we should be BRANDING ourselves and not our business.

The key here is for your subscribers to become familiar seeing your name and email address above all other e-mail addresses. You want your prospects to know who you are, know your services, and expect your e-mails filled with information and valuable tips.

2. The Subject Line: Conjure Up Your Subjects Like A Pro.

Well, I never said the subject was not important; it’s just not the most important…

Your subject should be of Curiosity and Benefit driven. You want to make sure your subscribers not only WANT to open your emails, make it so they have a compelling NEED to open your emails.

Having a mix of curiosity and benefit is KEY to getting your emails opened!

Subjects like, “This Totally AWESOME, COOL, SUPER WEIRD _______, gets you _______.

You see the curiosity factor? What’s awesome, what’s weird, or cool? Get your subscribers wondering.

How about the Benefit factor?

First your subscriber will be wondering what’s so cool…

Then this particular ’something cool’ will give me ______ …

Now they just have to open to find out what this cool something that will give me ____!

So, just remember that building an email list is just half your equation. Once you’ve got one part of the puzzle down, move on to the real money making section: sending out your emails, getting them open, and start making money.

Email Marketing Strategy HTML vs Plain Text

14. October 2009

This one email marketing strategy has every Internet marketer questioning the on-going battle HTML vs Plain Text, Which one to send out?

What’s The Difference

First off, let me explain to you the difference between the two strategies. In marketing, HTML based emails will include, just that, HTML code. The code will be parsed by an email client, such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail. These emails will include pictures or special formats, like font size, bold words, or colorful text.

The strategy behind this email marketing technique is that it’s different. Most emails you receive from your friends will be of plain text. All email marketing strategies are about being different, standing ahead of the wave, and not by being lost in the crowd.

One the other hand, there is also a strategy behind plain text emails. Yes, plain text emails have no special formats or pictures included in the body, but many Internet marketers still send ONLY plain text emails.

So the question comes to mind, why? Why do many Internet marketers still send out plain text emails? Well, plain text emails just look more natural. Normal people just don’t send out HTML based emails to their friends and families.

Also, many believe that subscribers do not like seeing flashy emails that scream, “But Me!”

Besides that, plain text emails do not get caught up in SPAM filters as easily as HTML based emails. You see SPAM filters aren’t as forgiving to HTML based emails Vs. Plain Text Emails.

Which Is Best?

To be honest, if you brought the top 10 email marketing Guru’s into a single room and asked each and every one of them their email marketing strategy, when it come to HTML Versus Plain Text, it’s very possible you will get 10 different answers!

The truth is, there’s no real definite answer, but many opinions.

My Email Marketing Strategy

Personally, I think in this day and age, HTML based emails are fine and I definitely include it into my email marketing strategy. I see no problem with them – as long as you do not go over board.

There is some vitality when it comes to Plain Text emails. Personally, I send HTML emails that look like plain text.

I know, this must sound a little confusing, but let me explain. The reason why html emails are so important is because of the metrics.

Only HTML based emails will allow you to track your open rates and click through percentages. Thankfully the metrics have been done for you and included in autoresponders like AWeber or GetResponse, the top two clients in the Internet Marketing Industry.

Knowing these numbers is so very important, most do not understand. With your metrics, you can understand what your subscribers are interested in, just by checking which subject lines receives the most opens.
